Lots of laughs

I had the pleasure of spending time with my mother's side of the family this weekend. Actually, they are all I have left on my mom's side. My mom's sister children who have always been more like brother and sisters to me than cousins. I was an only child and spent more time with them growing up. We are also close in age ,except for the youngest , who is 13 yrs behind me.
Yesterday, Chuck and I were invited to the youngest one's home which is an hour away from here. She was celebrating her little boy's 4th birthday party and had her family and her husband's family there too, as well as some of her friends.
She had way too much food, so much that I ate more than I should have. But, what is a birthday party without pigging out  on hot dogs and salads. I enjoyed visiting with everyone and most of the women sat in the house catching up on gossip. There was also the baseball rivalry between the Red Sox/ Yankee game. I think the Sox fans (including me) outnumbered the Yankee fans and we were quite pleased when the Sox won the game. We never did hear the end of it from the sore losers though!
We had planned to spend the night as did a few others and we chose to stay in the camper, courtesy of her in-laws.
Best part of the night: sitting by the campfire, listening and watching the kids play, laughing at and to each other telling stories of old and new. Listening to the crickets serenading us, along with the tree frogs. Looking at the stars and looking for constellations. Toasting marshmallows and making smores. Heating up hot dogs and eating the remaining ones.Staying up way past my bedtime. All in all, it was about family and loving them and every minute we have with each other.
